What the 2024 Annual Update covered

The Annual Update is the one moment each year where the whole Liveline® team steps back from day-to-day releases and shows where the product is going. The 2024 edition walked through three things: what shipped during the year, what our users told us was still too slow, and what we committed to build next.

1. A year of shipping

Across 2024 we shipped several major versions of Liveline®. The common thread was speed: fewer clicks between an idea and a shareable 3D layout. Elevation handling, library search, snapping behaviour and rendering quality all improved release after release, and every one of those changes came from watching real sales engineers build real proposals.

• Faster layout building — smarter snapping and drag behaviour so equipment lands where you expect it the first time.
• A deeper asset library — more manufacturer equipment available out of the box through Liveline DIREQ™, alongside your own imported models.
• Better output — cleaner renders and shareable views that hold up in front of a customer without a designer touching them.

2. What users asked for

The feedback was consistent across industries. Teams did not want a simulation tool. They wanted something a salesperson could open on a Tuesday afternoon, use to lay out a line with the customer on the call, and send a credible visual the same day. Anything that required CAD skills was a bottleneck, and anything that required waiting on the engineering team was a lost week.

3. Where we are going

The roadmap presented in the update focused on collaboration and handoff: making it easier to move from a first sketch to a validated layout to something engineering can actually use, without re-drawing the project three times. What the 2024 roadmap changed for layout teams

The 2024 annual update was the year Liveline® moved from a promising 3D layout tool to a full quoting workflow. Three shifts drove that: a much larger equipment catalogue through the Liveline DIREQ 3D asset library, faster scene assembly for non-technical sales reps, and export options that let engineering pick up a layout without rebuilding it from scratch.

Highlights from the recording

• Faster first draft. Sales reps can place conveyors, palletizers and packaging cells in minutes instead of waiting on an engineering queue.
• Real customer constraints. Existing buildings can be traced from imported floor plans, so proposals reflect the plant the customer actually has.
• Presentation-ready output. Renders and walkthroughs are produced from the same file used to design the line.
